A Grade Fox guns available to buy, so how do you choose?  Do you want to buy just an old gun that you know little about from a stranger on the internet, or do you want to buy a fine vintage shotgun CERTIFIED BY AN ESTABLISHED COMPANY WITH A 20 YEAR STELLAR REPUTATION IN THE INDUSTRY?  You should know what you are buying and from whom.  With most guns for sale on the internet you have nothing to go on but poor photos and anemic descriptions that give you no pertinent information guiding you to an educated decision. Most have had their stocks cut, been poorly restored, heavily used, have buggered up screws, bad shooting dimensions, or have characteristics that just don’t fit your needs.  Many are a box of shells away from an expensive repair.  Buying a Fox that competent gunsmiths have completely stripped, inspected, cleaned and lubricated, a gun that is guaranteed to be in superb mechanical condition makes the most sense.  It is nearly impossible to get quality gunsmithing work on a vintage shotgun these days, so why take a chance on a random internet purchase?  HERE WE HAVE A VERY SPECIAL FOX, SN32710 MADE IN 1928 that has ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL METAL FINISHES WITH 98% BLUE, 96% FACTORY CASE COLOR, EXCELLENT SCREWS, AND 80% CHARCOAL BLUE ON THE TRIGGER GUARD…A TRUE RARITY.  The wood is original to the gun and has had finish added over the years and has awesome modern dimensions and nicely figured wood.  The 30” number 2 weight barrels have mirror bores, tight ribs, and fit tight as new to the hinge pin and breech face.  PRESENTLY IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND 2 ½” 12GA. SHELLS.  BECAUSE OF THIS, VFI GUNSMITHS HAVE CAREFULLY LENGTHENED THE CHAMBERS TO 2 ¾” AND EXTENDED THE FORCING CONES TO 1 ½” TAPERS SO THAT YOU CAN SHOOT MODERN 2 ¾” HEAVY FIELD LOADS THROUGH THIS GUN.  This is a $440 service in our shop. The gun is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, WITH 90 DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY, having been stripped to the smallest part, Ultrasonic cleaned, each part scrubbed and inspected for function and integrity, lubricated, and assembled, good for another decade or so before needing attention, a $350 service.  We have put $790 in service into this gun so you don’t have to!  Our gunsmiths can make alterations to fit your needs within a week or so of purchase.
