Here we have a very elegant George Gibbs of Birmingham 20 bore boxlock ejector gun that weighs a delightful 5 pounds 5 ounces and has nearly full coverage engraving showing fine English scroll and floral bouquets.  The gun is in very nice condition, with the 27” M/F barrels tight on the hinge pin and breech face, bores mirror shiny, substantial wall thickness (see specification tables below) and all mechanicals in excellent working order.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY.  The action and forend iron were stripped to their smallest part, cleaned in the Ultrasonic cleaner, scrubbed and inspected for function and integrity, properly lubricated and reassembled.  This is a $440 service in our shop.  The gun remains in British proof specifications with the original 2 ½” chambers, factory bore diameter, tight ribs, no dents or dings.  The barrels have been sleeved and made new in England and done almost invisibly.  As a result of this renewal, the gun is safe for modern loads and the price has been dramatically reduced, making this an elegant, high-end British gun for a bargain price.  The stock dimensions are modern and the wood is in excellent condition with superb checkering, drop points, English grip, splinter forend with no cracks or repairs.  We can alter chokes if you choose within 5 days of purchase and have this gun ready for your upland pursuits this fall.  If you haven’t handled a British boxlock ejector gun from a well-known and respected maker, you will smile when you shoulder this gun.  The Brits are GUNMAKERS THAT SET THE BAR FOR ALL OTHER MAKERS, not your modern day CNC machinists that set computers, verify specs, and box them up.  Hand engraved, hand checkered, hand fit by craftsman that apprenticed at the age of 16 and worked in the gun trades for the best in England for 50 years, a George Gibbs 20 bore is an heirloom gun that can be enjoyed for generations to come.  This one is all inspected and ready to go for decades more use.  See specifications below.  Thanks for looking.
