Designed by John Browning the Model 1894 is the rifle most associated with the Winchester name, it has sold over 7,000,000 units and is often referred as the “ultimate lever-action”. Offered throughout is production in many different configurations along with a myriad of customer customizable options 1894’s are very varied and often unique. This example was manufactured in 1912 and is serial number 627102. It is chambered for the .32-40 center fire cartridge that was introduced in 1884, a chambering well known for its accuracy. This Winchester Model 1894 is a special-order Saddle Ring Carbine, it has a 20” barrel with an excellent shiny bore and sharp rifling, Carbine Ladder sights and 98% factory blue remaining, it features a special order ½ length button magazine that holds three shells. The receiver and lever have been hand finished to a very pleasing natural silver tone without losing any edge definition. The stock shows a rich finish and has an early metal shotgun style butt plate, wood-to-metal fit is excellent. Wearing its age well this rifle has been loving looked after throughout the years, it wears its age well, its silvered receiver adds warmth and character, and its wood seems to glow!
