The Winchester Model 1897 stands as one of the most important shotguns in American history. Designed by John Browning and produced from 1897 to 1957, it was the first truly successful exposed-hammer pump shotgun. Built by the millions, the 1897 saw use on farms, game land, and world wars alike, proving that slide-action shotguns belonged in the field alongside any double gun. This example, serial number 632610, was produced by Winchester in 1918 and functions exactly as it should – the action runs smooth, with the added fun slam-fire capability for those who run their guns fast. It has been reblued and has some sanding marks under the bluing, the stock has been professionally repaired at the wrist and has honest marks on the stock and receiver. It retains 98% finish on the barrel and receiver, and has a mirror bore. The barrel has been cut down and such it is choked cylinder, a red fiber sight has been added, and all of which we have considered and priced accordingly. Overall, this would make an excellent doner gun for a trench gun project! Details and specifications are below. Thanks for looking!
